  • Safety requirements
    Golfers must be by him/herself in the hitting area (black turf) at all times. Golfers must only swing clubs on the green hitting mat for safety reasons. Golfers must check the surroundings (monitor, other players etc.) before swinging any club to ensure no one or obstacle is within the range of swing. Golfers must ensure the shot is directed towards the hitting screen. Golfers must be aware of your backswing and follow through at all times. Golfers must follow staff instructions, safety rules and restrictions at all times.
  • How many people can use an indoor golf bay?
    Maximum number of golfers per bay is four. Spectators are welcome free of charge. If you've got a bigger group, please book more than one golf simulator (we have four bays). Remember bookings are per bay, not per person.
  • A frequently asked question is 'how long would does it take to play 18 holes for indoor golf?
    The answer is different depending on a few things. Here is a guide: One person can play 18 holes in 50 mins Two people can play 18 holes in 1.5 hours (we suggest you book in two 50 minute sessions and have a warm up) Three people can play 18 holes in 2 hours Four people can play 18 holes in 3 hours Halve the times above for a 9 hole round All these times may vary depending on the golfer's skill level.
  • What if I've never played golf before?
    You've got to start somewhere! Our indoor golf simulators are the perfect place to try out golf - you can't lose your ball, and you've got data and insights right on hand to learn about your golf swing and how to improve it.
  • When should I arrive for my golf simulator booking?
    Please arrive at least 10minutes ahead of your golf simulator hire booking to check in with us and ensure you are ready to go once the bay becomes yours. Once your purchase time is over staff will give you your last shots before the next group arrives. Tip: We recommend downloading the Trackman golf app onto your phone ahead of coming in. Setup an account and connect it with our Trackman when you arrive, so you can take all the insights from your golf shots away with you.
  • Do I need my own golf clubs?
    We welcome golfers bringing their own golf clubs into Golf Federation. If you don't have a set, you can hire some for $10 per booking. Golfers must be responsible for any damage or missing hired clubs and will be charged for the replacement cost.
  • Will I need to put stickers on my clubs or balls for the tracking technology?
    You do not need stickers for your club or ball data with Trackman.
  • What golf balls are used in the golf simulators?
    We are pleased to provide Titleist proV1 RCT balls in all golf simulator bays. Please supply your car key or a credit card as a deposit during your play. Any lost or stolen balls will be charged at $10 per ball.
  • What food and drink is available?
    We have a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available for you to purchase during your golf simulator hire. Please see instore for details. You are welcome to bring your own food however you must take your rubbish away with you again. Please note intoxicated persons are not permitted at Golf Federation and alcohol will not be served to minors.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Any booking cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full cost of the simulator hire.
  • Do local golf club members receive a discount?
    Yes, we are pleased to support local Central Otago golf club members with discounted rates for our golf simulator bays. Please book online and pay instore for your discounted rate, upon showing proof of membership.   • Can I hire Golf Federation as an exclusive venue for my event?
    Yes, you can. Our four-bay golf simulator space is the perfect place to socialise or learn with a larger group of family, friends or colleagues. With drinks and food available too, we can make your next event easy. Get in touch for more details: info@golffederation.co.nz
  • Do you sell gift vouchers?
    Yes we do! Order your gift voucher here. Vouchers expire 12 months after their issue date.
  • Booking terms and conditions
    By booking a service at Golf Federation including golf simulator hire, lessons and club hire, you agree to the following: Please arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of your golf simulator hire booking to check in with us and ensure you are ready to go once the bay becomes yours. Once your purchase time is over staff will give you your last shots before the next group arrives. Only Golf Federation balls can be used in our simulator bays. We are pleased to provide Titleist proV1 RCT balls in all golf simulator bays. You will be given five for your booking and will need to return these at the end. Any missing balls will be charged at $10 per ball. Golf club hire is $10 per 50 minutes in addition to your bay hire. Any damaged or lost golf clubs will be charged at cost price. You are responsible for informing Golf Federation staff of any damage to the clubs in your possession. Please treat Golf Federation equipment and premises with care and follow Golf Federation safety requirements and staff instructions at all times.   • When is the best time to play indoor golf?
    The great thing about indoor golf is it isn't dependent on the weather or the seasons. Golf Federation makes a great rainy day activity in the heart of Queenstown, and a good option to find relief from the cold or the heat of summer. We are open from 10am - 9pm for people to practice or play, day or night.
  • How do I get to Golf Federation?
    Golf Federation is located at 10 Athol Street in the heart of Queenstown town centre, just a short stroll from the waterfront and close to many shops, eateries and places to stay. It's just around the corner from the main Stanley Street bus stop and is next to a public car park.
